The bench, made by Paul Lowe Monuments, was accepted by Mayor Pro Tem Corey Johnson, Administrator Fred Russell, and Augusta Housing and Community Development Director Chester Wheeler at a ceremony held in the park on Friday, April 19. <p>(AUGUSTA, GA) Historic Augusta, Inc. received a $75,000 grant from the 1772 Foundation, a national leader in the field of historic properties redevelopment. The grant is to be used specifically to enhance the preservation organization’s Revolving Fund, an aspect of its Real Estate Program. Under this program the organization acquires options to buy significant buildings and then sells the properties to preservation minded buyers subject to historic preservation easements.<br />
